H.P. Lovecraft: The Musical!

H.P. Lovecraft: The Musical! April 1, 2009

A more chipper telling of “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” than you perhaps ever wanted.

Also, an interesting interview with the Man himself:

His remarks about his fiction filling the “vacuum” left by religion are both hilarious and terrifying (what a fun guy he must have been at a party). His remarks on the fundamental differences between the written word and the screen as art forms are, I think, still prescient. I’ve never seen a book to film adaptation that could really do justice to its source. No matter how great the film, the book is greater. Perhaps the sole exception to this that I can think of is “Forrest Gump”, which just ignored the text to a large degree and created something else.
