Yet another bleak day for the Church

Yet another bleak day for the Church May 21, 2009

The Irish Church is reeling from (and the secular UK media is absolutely gleeful about) a report on abuses committed in various institutions during the 20th Century. Amy Welborn has the story and will, undoubtedly, be giving this the sort of top notch coverage she normally gives suuch stories.

What can you say? St. Peter tells us that judgement begins with the Church and Jesus warns that every branch that does not bear fruit is broken off and cast into the fire. We are and have been going through a fearful purgation for the sins of our members. May God our loving Father not stop until the work he aims to do is completed and the Church is purified of such evils through Christ our Lord and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin. Where there is crime, there has to be justice, if possible. Where there is sin, there has to be forgiveness. Where there are wounds, there has to come healing.
