Most Americans don’t realize the threat that is posed to our freedoms by the Soft Tyranny to the North. No, there won’t be any armies of maple-syrup-wielding troops pouring across the border.
However, the Canuck gov’t has made some major advances in figuring out legal ways to crush free speech and punish those who do not observe the leftist pieties. (These methods could be used to punish any tribal pieties Caesar may choose to observe.) And smart boys on this side of the border are eying these strategies in the hope of making use of them here, if possible. Suffice it to say, as Blazing Cat Fur summarizes things that:
In Canada, saying the wrong thing even in jest can drag you through Star Chamber tribunals and commissions without the benefit of due process, can bankrupt you, destroy your career and your family, result in lifetime bans on free speech and expression (of the Gospel, no less) and ultimately even lead to imprisonment. Freedom of speech and expression, freedom to practice religion as we choose, are guaranteed by our constitution.

Of course, we have (for now) the Bill of Rights protecting free speech. But, as our Robed Masters have taught us repeatedly, the Bill of Rights and the rest of the Constitution only say what five ideologues on the Supreme Court say they say. We already have floating non-free speech bubbles around Planned Parenthood Shrines to Moloch, where only the Holy Liturgical Words of Praise to Moloch may be spoken and blasphemy against him may not be uttered on pain of Caesar’s wrath.
Do you *really* think that such zones cannot be expanded given the right legal chicanery?
