Here is a story that plays into a thread I know you have followed, the public education abuse crisis.

It seems to me there should be a Pulitzer prize out there for somebody to actually take these stories seriously, put them in one volume and shine some light on the issue.

A local columnist in Worcester decided to scratch (however timidly) the surface of the story in Massachusetts, but leaves the most important questions unasked (and not to throw too much local detail at you, he was the education reporter for the newspaper yet fails to inform us if any of these cases were in Worcester or not. Either way he fails to ask if the problem is being reported in the very school system he covers.

In any case, I give him credit (some) for bringing the story up at all, and I thought you might be interested in it.

Odd how nobody says that public education or the state are permanently and eternally discredited despite the orders of magnitude higher numbers of both abuse and coverup than occur in the Catholic Church. Also odd how a sexually deranged culture basically continues living out the Great Post-Sexual Revolution Compromise: You figures entrusted with the public good don’t get all up in our faces about our perversions and we won’t haul you to jail for yours (unless they make the news: then we’ll open a can of Righteous WhoopAss on you to establish our credentials as Solid Citizens. Appearances must be maintained.)
