Prayer Request

A reader writes:

David Otteni is in Hospice care at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. He has a severe staph infection in his bloodstream, along with a stroke and an already weak heart following the aneurism surgery earlier this year. He has stopped all treatment (large, but pretty much ineffectual, doses of antibiotics, and kidney dialysis) and is just getting pain relief. He probably has anywhere from 1 to maybe 5 days left. I visited him on Saturday morning. Please pray that he will make his peace with God in the time left. His dear mother and sisters are trying to pull him back to the faith he was raised with.

As it happens, I know Dave. He was involved, 30 years ago, with the Everett Community College Theatre Program the same time I was. I would like to ask everybody’s prayers for him that he would be granted the grace of a happy death through our Lord Jesus Christ. Father, hear our prayer! Mother Mary, intercede for him that he might make his peace with God and come in the end to the resurrection of the blessed through our Lord Jesus Christ!
