Prayer Request

John Mallon writes:

No sooner do I offer to pray for all of you than I ask you for prayers. I don’t know how much national news this has attracted, but today an Oklahoma City physician was arrested and held in the alleged killing of his 9-year-old son. The doctor in question is my doctor, but furthermore he is the stepson of my dearest friend in Oklahoma, a retired physician himself. I will not mention his name out of respect for his privacy because I have not been able to speak to him personally yet; but I ask for your prayers for him and his family. His wife, the mother of the charged doctor must be devastated, as I am sure my friend is. I cannot begin to say how good this man has been to me. He has been like a father to me and a human guardian angel. All who know him regard him as a living saint of great kindness and generosity, a true Catholic gentleman.

Please keep him and his family in your prayers. He is in his 80s and I am certain he must be utterly heartbroken. His stepson suffered from bouts of severe depression, but was a good and competent doctor who helped me. I don’t know what made him snap. Please pray for them all.
