I have friends whose little boy needs our prayer. Baby Thomas was born four months premature and spent the first few months fighting for his life. He miraculously pulled through, but has been living with a tracheotomy for the past year because his lungs were not fully developed when he was born.
His wonderful parents have been chronicling his life, joys, and struggles here:
Just recently, doctors tried removing his trach, which did not go well at all, and Baby Thomas struggled with the sedatives, as well as breathing on his own. He has been at the hospital for the past couple of weeks as they’ve been trying to determine whether to re-insert the tracheotomy. The hope is that he will recover and be able to breathe on his own and build his lung strength.
When things were looking bad and that the trach might have to be re-inserted, his parents asked everyone to pray nine Memorares on nine consecutive days (novena) for his recovery. Miraculously, his condition greatly improved, but they are still not out of the woods yet.
Baby Thomas and his family need our prayers. They have suffered much, but I believe God has special plans for this young one. Let us join together in Memorares or any other prayer of your choosing so that Baby Thomas can go home trach-free for Christmas. Be sure to visit their site and send your prayers and encouragement.
Father, breathe you Holy Spirit into Thomas’ tiny lungs and heal him completely through your Son Jesus Christ. Mother Mary, pray for him and obtain the healing he needs. Pray also for his caregivers and those who love him that they may be strengthened and consoled.
