My Sick Computer

I got an ACER laptop a couple of months ago so I could work on the road. It’s my main work horse. Suddenly, for no reason I can determine. It is locking up and hanging and processing data fantastically slow. The mouse takes forever to move. When you click on stuff, the computer takes minutes for it to register. It happened once in Oklahoma and again last night. It took an hour for me to shut it down. When I rebooted, it was fine.

Today, when I started out, it worked fine. Then it said it had an update from Microsoft and I had to reboot. I did, and now it’s hung. It seems to be trying to load the normal array of programs, but extremely slowly. I tried to restart, but it wouldn’t respond to mouse clicks and now the screen’s gone black.

This, with the car problems, could be *very* bad news. (Though I’m happy to report that we have Carbonite, so all our data is safe.) Still, your prayers and any suggestions please.
