The New Atheists are past masters at this, but basically every secularist is doing the same thing: covertly assuming the goods that they prefer to be somehow transcendant and “self-evident” while simultaneously trying to pretend that we live in a universe of pure impersonal Is. It’s a shell game. You can be a moral person without believing in God. But you cannot *account* for morality without it ultimately pointing back to the fact that humans are made in the image and likeness of You Know Who.
