Stanley Fish calls the bluff…

…of secularists who continually loot the theistic tradition for morality and then call the stolen goods “secular values”. The New Atheists are past masters at this, but basically every secularist is doing the same thing: covertly assuming the goods that they prefer to be somehow transcendant and “self-evident” while simultaneously trying to pretend that we live in a universe of pure impersonal Is. It’s a shell game. You can be a moral person without believing in God. But you cannot *account* for morality without it ultimately pointing back to the fact that humans are made in the image and likeness of You Know Who.
