That Balance You’ve Come to Know and Love

…from the WaPo.

Here’s the Paper of Our Nation’s Capitol hosting somebody named Carole Joffe, professor at the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at the University of California, San Francisco. That’s pretty much all you need to know in order to accurately predict that she will, natch, be the author of Dispatches from the Abortion Wars: The Costs of Fanaticism to Doctors, Patients, and the Rest of Us. And that is all you need to know to be sure that when she speaks of abortion “fanaticism” she does not mean the insane Democratic will to worship and venerate the sacrament of abortion even if it means screwing up their cherished health care plan. No, it is people who don’t want to be forced to pay for slaughtering babies who are the villains, of course.

But not to worry! There’s also a brand new columnist writing for the WaPo who gives us a Faithful Conservative Catholic perspective that is totally unbeholden to the powers and principalities inside the beltway. I refer, of course, to Marc Theissen, the nation’s number #1 apologist for torture. In addition, Thiessen is an enthusiastic supporter of the recent McCarthyist enthusiasms of the Other Cheney (Liz) and is quite happy to get right down in the mud that even the vast majority of his fellow conservatives won’t touch.

Good to know that the WaPo is fair and balanced.
