Your article on how neither the Left nor the Right knows how to get us on the path to good made me wonder about the efficacy of donating to political parties and/or candidates. What is the most practical and best thing to do? Thanks for any advice you can give.

I don’t have any particular beef with donating to political candidates, just so long as they aren’t asking me to support grave and intrinsic evil. On the national stage, that’s pretty common. In local politics, you can often support pols whose jobs do not entail such matters.

Meanwhile, in the large scheme of things, I think politics is basically like knitting with tire irons. The real arena for changing hearts and minds is in culture.
