Today, I posted a little piece over at the Register on the spiritual cancer of hoping for the worst in somebody. Today, Al Kresta (no enthusiast for Obama) points to a rather grotesque illustration of what he calls the “unbelievable hypocrisy” from Gretchen Carlson:

Christians who adopt “damn them no matter what” tactics toward their ideological opponents may be good stooges for their party but are traitors to their Lord. The goal of the gospel is not to damn us no matter what we do. The Son of Man did not come to condemn the world, but that that world might be saved. As Paul says, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Love also, by the way, plays fair. Reagan was famous for never going to Church. One finds it hard to believe that Carlson would condemn him for offering a generic American Civil Religion Prayer (as he commonly did) in one of his speeches. Presidents have done this since forever.
