Meanwhile, in the Countries that Used to be England and Ireland… September 10, 2010

much bustle among the enemies of God in preparation for the Pope’s visit. However, precisely because the enemies of God have such a hammerlock on the media there, I suspect that the turnout of support among ordinary folk will create a stronger contrast and generate some surprise (which, of course, the media will labor to downplay since they are, by and large, enemies of God)

Speaking of UK media-approved enemies of God (and the subversive Catholic opposition to same among ordinary Catholic laity in the UK), here is a curious little nose-tweaking from one of the UK faithful who refuses to cooperate with standard issue No Popery Goodthink from the Ministry of Truth:

May God bless the faithful Narnians till the day the Telmarines are sent packing. Britain has gone from Puritan zealotry to Ditchkins atheism (with a dash of Granola-esque Whateverism), but at no point have her elites ever lost the conviction that All Religions are Equally Superior to the Catholic Faith. Henry VIII (and expecially Elizabeth) created one of the most successful systems of agitprop and bigotry in the history of anti-catholicism. It seems to bid fair to keep England anti-Catholic right until the moment they impose sharia. Indeed, I think England’s elite would be quite willing to become Muslim just so long as they can remain anti-Catholic–a wish lots and lots of Muslims will be happy to oblige.

The tragedy for England is that under sharia, they will no longer be allowed to gratuitously spit on Christ, since Muslims revere him as a prophet and have been the main engine of opposition to naked post-Christan displays of blasphemy on the Beeb. Supernature, as I have said before, abhors a vacuum. No civilization can be atheist for long. Post-Christian Atheism is merely the pause between breathing out the Holy Spirit and breathing in some other spirit.
