I have just posted a substantial bit from a letter sent by a very-sympathetic-to-Catholicism-Christian who lives in the Muslim world. He addresses his letter to Pope Benedict and suggests three ways that Catholics in the west and the Muslim world could help Muslims who are drawn to Christ and exploring the Catholic faith. One of the many ironies involved is that Catholic priests tend to send Muslims who request baptism to the evangelicals!

I think your readers would like to join the conversation if you linked to my post.

This, by the way, is why I believe the Fortress Catholicus approach to Islam (“Just give up on evangelization. It’s hopeless. Don’t even try. Repel boarders!”) is a capitulation to despair. How exasperating that priests are actually turning away converts!
