Bernardo Aparicio from Dappled Things writes… January 12, 2011

Just writing to share with you the very exciting news that we are inaugurating and entirely redesigned Dappled Things website. We are also celebrating our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY! We hope you’ll help us spread the word. The new site includes:

• A feature article, story, or poem on the homepage that will be regularly updated;
• Social media sharing tools, comment boxes, a search tool, a news section for quick updates, and (coming soon) an RSS feed;
• A page with excellent resources for writers and artists, as well as Christians with an interest in literature and the arts;
• A new Facebook page.

(But wait, there’s more!) The fifth anniversary edition includes:

• A picture of a basilica built halfway up a gorge in Colombia that you just have to see;
• The feature article in which that picture is found, “Sacred Places,” which includes contributions by Joseph Bottum, Joseph Pearce, Fr. James Schall, Duncan Stroik, and David Clayton;
• A selection of our favorite essays, stories, and poems from the magazine’s pre-print days. This includes “Refiner’s Fire” a truly beautiful essay about discernment that I just have to single out because I don’t want it to go under the radar again. Really, go read it now (YES, I AM TALKING TO YOU, MARK SHEA). Then thank me for making you do it;
• A set of lovely icons by David Clayton;
• Lot’s more…

We hope you like the new site, and that you and your readers will stop by often now that we have regular updates.

Cheers,

Bernardo

P.S.: As a priest told me today: Watch out! Christ has been baptized and he’s on the loose!
