Who could wonder why Kermit Gosnell was confused at his arraignment? No one had stopped him before. No one in more than 30 years had questioned him. No one had ever given him a signal that he might be prosecuted for performing abortions by inducing overmedicated third-trimester labor and then chopping through the spinal cord of the living result. No one had ever dared call his abortion business murder.
The attempt by abortion zealots such as P.Z. Myers to distance themselves from this man and blame him on pro-life advocates (by weirdly trumpeting that he is not “afraid” to regard Gosnell’s victims as “meat”) is every bit as plausible as the attempt of a Christopher Hitchens to fob off the atheism of Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot on the world as “religion”. It doesn’t even pass the laugh test, because it evokes not a laugh, but a snort of disgust and an impulse to slap the face of an insolent monster.
Pro-aborts: you made this guy. You own him. He is you.
