I have prayer request, please pray that God will send me a good and faithful Catholic woman to be my wife.

I have been waiting patiently for many years and after losing my father a couple of years ago, watching my mom reach retirement age and entering into my thirties – not to mention being an only child – I have come to realize that time is passing and that it would be nice to finally settle down and start a family.

Thank you in advance for considering my request.

Father, hear our prayer for this man that you would send him the woman you intend so that they can grow in love and have a family dedicated to you through our Lord Jesus Christ. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Oh Most Puissant and Merciful Master, He Whose Pits Are Filled Always With the Wailings of Despair, and Whose Peacocks Keep Us Awake All Hours of the Night With Their Noisy Lovemaking!

I am a long-time reader of your blog, a fellow out and stout Jolly (Motto: “We’re A-Round, Don’t Count Pounds, And…Is that ice-cream? Don’t mind if we do!”), and an owner of literally twos of your books.

I am also a husband, and a father of four beautiful young children. For several years now, I’ve been under-employed, just barely scraping by. All around us, people we know and love are going through divorce, putting their children in the kinds of situations children should never have to be in. It saddens me, and hits my wife in a very personal emotional place.

That, thankfully, is not and never will be on the table in my marriage, but the financial stress, the…assorted joys that come from having four healthy, intelligent, and inquisitive children, and the problems in our immediate and extended families has put strain on our relationship. I am not one to attribute supernatural causes where natural ones suffice, but I have a profound feeling of oppression lately. My wife needs peace of mind, and I need strength and endurance, and we both need a restored sense of hope.

If you could keep me and my family in your prayers, I would be extremely grateful.

Your brother in Christ,
Wailing Toiler # 37150

PS My wife just called from home to tell me that our 4 year old has poured out a brand new bottle of maple syrup. You’d think the son of a Jolly would know the value of syrup!!! The boy must be possessed.

Father, we ask that you would surround and protect this family with your guardian angels, deflect any attacks of the enemy, and turn all things to good for them as they seek to follow you. Help your servant find full scope for his gifts so that he may serve you fully. Provide them with enough money, so that they can fulfill their responsibility to their children and to their neighbors for your glory. Give them peace in their hearts and joy in one another so that they can be a light to their world that your love is possible on this earth. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them!
