What do I think of HuffPo Logic?

A reader asks:

Do you have anything written that addresses this claim that this policy has already been in place and the bishops didn’t care?

No. No articles. But the logic of this is transparently stupid. States enacted oppressive regulations which the Church unsuccessfully resisted and ultimately was compelled to acquiesce to. Therefore even more oppressive regulations are okay? HuffPo is basically saying, “Hey we already punched the Church in the nose and got away with it, so she’s a hypocrite for complaining about a knee to the groin.”
