Catholic and Enjoying It!
A reader writes:
Please pray for the repose of the soul of our oldest son, Andrew, who was hit by a car and killed early this morning while walking in the Crossroads Walk for Life. He was dedicated to the pro life cause, and was doing this walk to both further this cause and to help discern a vocation to the priesthood. He was a student at Thomas Aquinas and would have turned 21 in a month. While we clearly don’t know each other, we had exchanged emails a couple times over the years in which I had passed on to you some of the amazing things this kid said – he was unique.
If there is any cause he would have willingly died for, defending life is it.
May he rest in peace.
Father, thank you for the gift of Andrew. Grant eternal life and rest to your beautiful child and give consolation, peace, strength and healing to all grieve for him and love him. Let this parting, which is only for a little while, issue in the work of your Spirit here on earth and in eternal joy on That Day when the Great Reunion comes. Mother Mary, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. And let the blood Andrew has shed this day be joined to the blood of Christ and all his holy martyrs to bring an end to the scourge of abortion. We ask all this through Christ our Lord.
