My brother Jeff–my only sibling–was just diagnosed with lung cancer which has metastasized to the brain. It doesn’t look good. He went to the hospital yesterday when he couldn’t walk. He’d already been to the dr a couple of weeks ago for facial paralysis. And he’s been coughing up blood for a couple of months, but drs. didn’t pursue it after an EGD (esophageal scope) was negative.
He’s in Colorado and I’m in Ohio. Please pray for him, his kids (he has 4 grown sons) and for my family, as we figure out how to get me out there and still keep the things running at home. Jeff & I both lost our dads as young children, and our mom died 36 years ago, so we’re it for each other.
Father, hear our prayer for this man and for his sister and for all who love them. Give skill, wisdom and compassion to his caregivers and healing to him in body, soul, and spirit. Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Deb is taking her Nurse Practitioner exam tomorrow from 9:30 AM to 1:30PM.
Would you please keep her in your prayers tonight and/or tomorrow? It would mean a lot to us.
Father, hear our prayer that she does well on her test tomorrow. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for her.

Please pray for my dad. He’s always had a bad temper but he’s gotten downright deranged over Obama. I’m talking a level of anger that I’m afraid could take years off his life. He’s one of the last people I would have expected to use racial slurs, but he’s letting them fly now. I’m incredibly disappointed in and worried about him.
Father, grant that this man recall his duty to love you and his neighbor and not sacrifice his joy on the altar of something as ephemeral as this election. Grant that we all set our minds on heavenly things and not on earthly things through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.
