I am asking for prayers as we have hit a huge complication in our adoption that could be awful for everyone. Please pray for us.

Father, hear our prayer that this adoption come off without a hitch and that this problem be swiftly resolved to the glory of your Name. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for this family.

Not long ago I wrote to you about my grandfather, who desperately needed to stay in the hospital but resisted doing so. We finally got him to check in, but he’s been having multiple mini-strokes and is in very bad shape. I would appreciate it if your readers would pray for him, and for a friend of mine who just lost a family member. Thanks.

Father, hear our prayer for grampa’s healing and for the man who died as well as all who love them. Send you Holy Spirit out for their grace, consolation, strength, healing and peace through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for us all now and at the hour of our death. Receive the one who has died, Lord Jesus, in your mercy.

I am writing you all with a very special (to my heart) prayer request. Last night I found out that my God Dad and good friend Alfredo Escalona who I know some of you know and some of you don’t, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. It’s about the size of a walnut and he is going in the the University of Washington Medical Centre this Thursday for an emergency operation to have it extracted. If all goes well with the op then their will be a lengthy bout of chemo to follow.
Alfredo was one of the first catholics who befriended me after my conversion two years before my baptism. He was and continues to be a great gift from God to me and my family. Simply put, Alfredo, his wife and two sons are family.
I have no idea why God has chosen for this to happen to him but I do know that he is determined to fight it with all his strength. His beautiful wife Cassy (my God mum) is no stranger to ill health herself.
They’re both into their 50s, and watching them together is like watching a couple who are perpetually on there Honneymoon. God’s goodness and light there for all to behold. Their faith in God and love for each other, with everyones combined prayer, will see them through to many more days together. This I believe and hope with all my heart.
I’m off to hold my wife and son tight and tell them I love them. I will keep you updated and God bless you and many thanks for the prayers on behalf of my friend.

Father, hear our prayer for Alfredo’s swift and complete healing through Christ our Lord. Give skill, wisdom, and compassion to his caregivers and grace, peace, and strength to all who love him. Bring him through this safely and give him long years yet with his family and friends. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, hear our prayer. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!

A relative of mine – Chris – died yesterday in hospital – with a priest on hand, thanks be to God. I didn’t know him at all, but my Nan was close to him as was my mother. My Nan in particular feels guilty that she wasn’t there with him at the time, the poor woman. So prayers for the soul of Chris and comfort for my Nan and mother are in order I think.

Father, grant eternal rest to Chris through our Lord Jesus Christ and give peace, healing, consolation and strength to all who loved him, especially Nan and my reader’s mother. Mother Mary, pray for Chris and for us all now and at the hour of our death. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
