Prayer Request

A reader writes:

I’d like to ask for yours and your readers prayers for one of my former teachers.  This man has been a dedicated teacher for many years and has touched many young students’ lives.  He’s had colon cancer for about a year, and I’ve just learned that he’s to the point where he’s been put into an induced coma.  I do not know his faith. Things are not looking good, and his costs of care are mounting.  I ask for prayers for his recovery, and, if recovery not be possible I ask for prayers for the grace of a happy death, for his family and those close to him, and for his caregivers.

There has been some talk of setting up a fund to which people can contribute to help alleviate his cost of care.  I will be sure to pass on the link should that plan go forward.

Father, hear our prayers for this man through Christ our Lord.  Give him full healing in body, soul, and spirit, grant his caregivers wisdom, understanding, knowledge, skill, compassion and grace, and give all who love him grace, peace, strength, and hope.  Mother Mary, pray for them.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!
