Prayer Request

A reader writes:

I wrote you summer 2012 to ask prayer for my sister-in-law, medical professional and 37 year-old mother of a 3-year old and 2-year-old, who was diagnosed with an aggressive melanoma. Well, after surgeries and experimental treatments it has progressed to the point her liver is shutting down. At this rate she has weeks.

She’s been enrolled in a groundbreaking study, and while the combination of drugs have proved miraculous for some they have not yet worked for her. She believes she will be healed and she can continue receiving treatment, but it’s been described it as a “Hail Mary” at this point- which I find to be almost too fitting!

Pray for healing, strength, and the incredible witness of her life and those surrounding her. Regardless of the outcome, God is good and this is a hugely transformative event for her family, friends, and community.=

Father, we ask that you would grant a miracle of healing or, if not, that you would grant her the grace of a happy death in Christ Jesus. Give her caregivers the grace, wisdom, compassion, knowledge, skill and the proper technology to heal her. Give all who love her grace, peace, strength, faith, hope, and love. We ask this through Christ Jesus. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for them!
