We just found out that our grants will be funded but with significant cuts. Because the government is shut down we cannot find out more details. How those cuts will impact staffing is unclear. At my age losing my job would be no day in the park so please send up a prayer that I remain employed please.

Father, hear our prayer that this person remain employed at a living wage. Grant her peace, faith, hope, love and your abundant providence. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for her and her family and her employers. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Also, Randall Terry of Operation Rescue writes:

In the last 48 hours, my wife Andrea and I have learned that our son Michael Winston (age 10) has a tumor. Michael is a vivacious and happy boy who loves Jesus, plays the guitar, and loves to play in the woods with his three brothers. Everyone who knows him will confirm that he is a delight.

The tumor is in the bone of his left leg just above the knee. An MRI showed that the tumor has spread to the soft tissue in his leg, as well as the lymph node in that area. He is now on crutches to keep the weight off the area to avoid a fracture. This morning we learned from a CT scan that his kidneys and pancreas each have an abnormality as well. The doctor is concerned with mastication.

We will get a biopsy this week, to find out what we are dealing with, and what treatment the physicians will pursue. The Oncologist has braced us to expect Chemo, Radiation, and surgery.

I do not need to tell you how devastating news of this nature is. Andrea and I are talking with everyone we know in the medical/health world, and contacting every Christian we know to beg their prayers. Michael knows that something is wrong – the MRI, Bone Scan, and CT scan were an obvious clue. We have told him that we are still trying to figure out what is wrong, and what the doctors are going to need to do.

I am pleading with God for my son. I am begging the Saints to intercede for his healing. And I humbly ask you to join us in praying for his health and life. I ask that you make Michael’s prayer need known to every prayer chain, prayer meeting, etc., that you know. And I ask that you forward this email to anyone who you believe would want to pray for him.

In Christ’s Wounds we take refuge.

Father, hear our prayer for Michael’s complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. Give his caregivers grace, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, skill, and the proper technology to aid in his healing. Give him and all who love him grace, peace, faith, hope, love, consolation and strength to face this trial. Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for them.

First, I’d like to thank everyone who reached out to help my friend David, for whom I asked prayers a bit back. I believe he has found a job, and he received a good financial donation to help him meet his rent.

Second, I’d like to ask prayers for my wife and I. We’re only recently married (not yet a month), and she’s the principal breadwinner while I’m in graduate school. Unfortunately, she’s beginning to grow very worried over her job, which is two thirds of our income, and our apartment (into which we have only just moved) is WELL beyond my ability to pay for it alone. I’d like to ask prayers that her job be secured, and that the both of us may trust God to see us through yet another financial mess should it arise.

Third, and most importantly, my friend Daniel’s father has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. They’d know he had cancer for a while, but he had hid the extent of it until recently. So the family had long believed he was in remission, when instead his cancer had spread fairly aggressively. So they have to deal with a double whammy all at once. Pray for Daniel, his mother, his sister, and his eleven year-old brother.

Father, thank you that Daniel has found work and financial support. We ask that you would grant his father the grace of a happy death and that you would grant him and all who love him grace, peace, strength, faith, hope, and love and that you would console them in this time of trial.

We also ask that you would keep my reader’s wife in her job and keep them financially stable and see him through school. We ask the prayers of Mother Mary, St. Joseph, St. Luke and St. Peregrine and we ask all this through Christ our Lord.

Finally, I would like to ask you folks to please pray for somebody very close to me who is struggling to find work. Thanks!
