A reader writes:

Thanks for passing on the prayers for Abp. Sartain. Things will probably get worse for him before they get better. The latest development is the resignation of the school’s principal.

Prayers for her, too.

Father, hear our prayer that Catholics can recover a sense of what the sacrament of marriage actually is and that Abp. Sartain will be sustained in his attempt to speak that truth in a culture that is currently stone blind to common sense in this area. Help all the people flung about by this controversy to tune their ears to your Spirit and not to the Zeitgeist. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. James, pray for the Church in Seattle.

Another reader writes:

Please keep praying for the rebuilding of our marriage, and success in counselling for us both and for myself.

Father, hear our prayer for the complete healing of all the members of this family in body, soul, and spirit and for the complete healing of this marriage. Give grace, wisdom, knowledge, counsel, and understanding to their counselors and let the grace of your sacrament of marriage be poured out on them and through them to their friends and family. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them! We ask all this through Christ our Lord.

Another reader writes:

I have heard from a friend that he is battling colo-rectal cancer. He is undergoing chemo in the hope that it will shrink the tumor to the point it can be removed surgically. Would you please post a request for prayer for him on your blog? Thanks so much.

Father, hear our prayer for the complete healing of this person body, soul, and spirit. Give grace, wisdom, knowledge, counsel, compassion, skill, the proper technology and a charism of healing to his caregivers. Give him and all who love him grace, peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope and love to weather this trial to the glory of your Name. Mother Mary and St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!
