Prayer Request

Prayer Request March 25, 2014

A reader writes:

Another prayer request to add to the pile. God bless you Mark for being such a wonderful and visible prayer request hub and know that your intentions are also in my own prayers.

Fr. Michael “Catfish” Mireau of Edmonton, Canada, is a chaplain with the local Catholic school board. In September he underwent major surgery to remove an enormous abdominal cancer that had resisted all other treatments. He has enjoyed several months of good health, but now it appears it has come back and spread.

He shares this news on his video blog (http://fathercatfish.com/RANTSHTP/MedicalLog.html) with truly inspirational dignity and trust in God’s will. Whatever happens, whether or not he receives another 6 month (or longer) miracle, he can use a lot of prayers for strength, courage, and discernment in how to proceed with treatment, as well as for a complete cure if that is in God’s plan.

Father, hear our prayer for your servant Michael that he can be complete healed of his afflictions in body, mind, and spirit or, failing that, that he be granted the grace of a happy death.  Give his caregivers grace, compassion, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, skill, and the proper technology to assist in his healing and grant him and all who love him grace, strength, courage, consolation, discernment, peace, faith, hope and love.  Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for them.  We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ.
