Prayer Request

Prayer Request March 26, 2014

A reader writes:

I’ve recently requested prayers for my friend who has a rare form of bone cancer. She’s had the surgery, which involved removing her left pelvic bone and part of her hip bone. She was sent to rehab to help her learn to walk again, a difficult task for anyone. Unfortunately, she heard from her surgeon today. While he seems to have gotten the cancerous parts, the biopsy done on those parts reveal that she has the rarest and most severe form of the cancer, the one with the lowest life expectancy (an average of a couple of years) and the greatest risk of metastasizing. As a result, she is very depressed and assuming the worst. More prayers are requested to help her realize that she is not alone and she shouldn’t give up hope.

Father, grant your daughter consolation and hope through your Son Jesus Christ.  Surround her with the love of your Spirit and of your people and grant her complete healing in body, soul, and spirit to the praise of your holy Name.  Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for her.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
