We don’t have unity in the essential things so it is not hard to understand why we have disagreements on the non essential. But they are related. If the person telling me it’s perfectly okay to read Harry Potter has issues with essential teachings on say abortion or marriage then I am going to question that advice.

So we then can kick that thought process up a notch to where we have situations as put forth by Archbishop Chaput in this article…..

    http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/archbishop-chaput-other-moral-issues-not-equivalent-to-abortion/

He quotes from Living the Gospel of Life…..

“Indeed, the failure to protect and defend life in its most vulnerable stages renders suspect any claims to the ‘rightness’ of positions in other matters affecting the poorest and least powerful of the human community” (“Living the Gospel of Life,” 22).
