The infallible practical result of a “Five Non-Negotiables” prolife strategy is that it results in “prolife” Catholics spending their time and energy, not fighting for the unborn, but fighting the Church on behalf of GOP Culture of Death priorities (whenever She sounds too “Democrat” or “liberal”) and using the unborn as human shields while you do it.

In contrast, if you just agree with the Church’s Whole Life Ethic, you can just stop wasting your time fighting the Church on behalf of a political candidate who regards you as a useful idiot and get back to spending your time and energy protecting human life from conception to natural death. You wind up being more prolife, not less.
