A red letter day

A red letter day January 16, 2017

A reader writes:

Mark this day:
A plan that provides health care for everyone, that is affordable, has my backing and I support Donald Trump in this endeavor.

I agree. It will be fascinating to see if his base agrees too–and what that will do to the Vandal Horde of Republicans whose entire universe revolves around destroying Obamacare.

When your thinking is predicated on the Church’s teaching (including the teaching that health care is a right) and not on party politics you can agree with anybody, even Donald Trump, when they advocate a position that is in harmony with the Church’s teaching and you don’t have to care in the slightest if it (*gasp*!) makes Obama look good or embarrasses Republicans. All it needs to do is comport with the Church’s teaching on the common good.
