There is a strong temptation at work among conservative Christians

…to recast the Christian faith as an ethnonationalist blood and soil fertility cult.  That any time whatsoever is spent trying to rationalize a neo-Nazi like Richard Spencer, or rationalizing the fact that Trump seeks ties with Austrian Freedom Party, an ethnonationalist party literally founded by a Nazi (and invited its head to the inauguration) is a stain and nothing but a stain on the honor of the Church.

These enemies of Christ show up in my combox now and then, announcing their eager anticipation of the day the regime gasses me.  Come and get me.  I will tell you to repent and warn you of the fire that is not quenched and the worm that dieth not right until you turn on the spigots.
