Where we are in salvation history

Only about 25% of the human race was baptized in the 2000 years since Pentecost and only 36% of all human beings who have lived over the past 2,000 years had a chance to hear the Gospel and be baptized.

Granting fully that God is God and the Second Coming could be at any moment, still and all I think that Christians who spend overmuch time speculating and forecasting His return are, well, hoping to call it quits at 10 AM and knock off for the day when there is still a huge amount to be done.
