So much history to choose from last week

But since this is a Catholic blog I think I will focus on our relationship with the Jewish people.

The Trump Cult of Blood and Lies defended sawing a man to pieces while he screamed and bled out by trying to suggest he had it coming.

After that, the Cult moved on to lying that the Trump Freak Show Cultist who sent bombs to a bunch of Trump’s critics and political opponents was, in fact, a Leftist engaging in a “false flag operation“.

The Christianist Cult of Blood and Lies absolutely loves the False Flag Operation narrative.  They use it every single time somebody in their Cult does something awful.  They use it with every gun massacre.  They used it to accuse the parents of  Sandy Hook of plotting to murder their own children so that Obama could take our guns.  They used it against the Parkland kids to accuse them of being part of a plot to make the Gun Cult look bad.  They attacked the victims of Vegas with it.  The Christianist cult of blood and lies always accuses the victims of the evil they defend of committing the evil they defend.

So they naturally spent the whole week claiming that the Dems sent themselves bombs in order to make the Trump Cult of Blood and Lies look bad.

Turned out the bomber was exactly the sort of loser Trump attracts:

A law enforcement official identified the suspect as Cesar Sayoc Jr., 56, of Aventura, Fla., just north of Miami.

Mr. Sayoc, a registered Republican, has a lengthy criminal history in Florida dating back to 1991 that includes felony theft, drug and fraud charges, as well as being arrested and accused of threatening to use a bomb, public records show.

His criminal record from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement indicates that at the time of his last arrest in 2015, he was 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and a scar on his left arm, the records said, and was born in New York. The records listed Mr. Sayoc’s occupation as “manager.”

According to a 2012 bankruptcy petition filed in Miami, Mr. Sayoc resided at the time at his mother’s home. “Lives w/mom,” a handwritten note on the petition said. “Has no furniture.”

Trump supporters are not super-geniuses playing Ten Dimensional Chess. They are people who hate their culture war enemies and want to terrorize and kill them. They say, think, and do evil and then project that on to their enemies. The bombs were sent, not by lefties performing ingenious False Flag Operations in order to win sympathy for lefties in the election, but by a brutal moron who just wants to terrorize his enemies, as the thugs who worship Trump want to do–and as Trump encourages them to do:

Which brings us to the latest slew of lies from the Cult: namely that the murders in Pittsburgh were somehow the fault of “anti-religious” “late night comedians”. This lie, from professional liar and public Catholic Kellyanne Conway, has no basis in fact whatsoever.

Here’s the truth about Robert Bowers:

Last week, he wrote: “Daily Reminder: Diversity means chasing down the last white person.” His profile photo caption read, “Jews are the children of Satan. (John 8:44,)” adding “the lord Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.”

He was not some atheist or anti-theist. He was a Christianist–a right wing, racist, anti-semite using the language of Christianity to support his virulent and murderous hatred of Jews.

He believed that those in the migrant caravans were violent because they were attempting to leave countries that had high levels of violence. And Bowers repeatedly called them “invaders.”

“I have noticed a change in people saying ‘illegals’ that now say ‘invaders’,” read one post, six days before the shooting. “I like this.”

At 9:49 a.m., in his final post on Gab.com, Bowers said referenced HIAS, saying he believed they brought in “invaders,” that were killing his people.

He did not acquire his thinking in a vacuum. He got it from the cesspool of the Cult of Trump and the Right Wing Lie Machine, such as Lou Dobbs, who promoted exactly the same lie that moved Bowers to murder 11 people:

A Fox Business Network executive on Sunday condemned the appearance of a guest on one of the network’s leading shows, “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” after the guest’s remarks were linked to anti-Semitism.

The guest, Chris Farrell of the conservative Washington group Judicial Watch, claimed the caravan of refugees now traveling in southern Mexico was funded by George Soros, a billionaire philanthropist and Democratic donor who has frequently figured in right-wing and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

Mr. Soros, who is Jewish, was also accused by Mr. Farrell of influencing the State Department. The episode was originally broadcast on Thursday but was shown again on Saturday night, after the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that claimed 11 lives.

After the attack, Mr. Farrell’s comments created a firestorm on social media, with commenters on Twitter condemning Mr. Farrell and, in turn, Fox Business and “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”

FOX got caught with their pants down by re-airing this filthy lie on the same day as the massacre.  So did House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy when he offered a variation of the International Jewish Banker Menace that the Cult of Trump loves:

He yanked it from circulation right after the slaughter, but the fact is, the Cult of Trump has been telling the “Soros the International Jew” lie and filling the Cult with fear and loathing of the Eternal Jew for years.  The hatred of Soros in the Cult is astonishing.  Soros passes Chesterton’s test for determining whether something is good with flying colors.  As he famously said, “If you hear a thing being accused of being too tall and too short, too red and too green, too bad in one way and too bad also in the opposite way, then you may be sure that it is very good.”  This is what the Cult of Trump has done to Soros for years:

He, along with Saul Alinsky, is the Great Jew Bogeyman who stalks the imaginations of the Cult of Trump. (Alinsky’s great protege, contrary to the torrent of lies from the Right Wing Lie Machine, was not Hillary Clinton, who wrote a paper on him in college to disagree with him, but that monster of evil incarnate, Cesar Chavez, one of the greatest figures of the late 20th century and a hero to everybody but the Cult of Trump and the blind suckers who get all their information from EWTN and FOX.)

Robert Bowers suckled at the teat of the poison spewed by the Cult of Trump. The Lie Machine is trying to distance the Cult from him by noting 1) that he was critical of Trump and by, as ever, 2) trying to sell the lie that the Left is the real source of anti-semitism because the Cult talks nice about Israel and Trump’s daughter is Jewish.

Here’s reality: Bowers loved the Cult’s prattle about the International Jew funding the “invaders” (meaning desperate poor people). He loved Trump’s talk about how migrants are coming to kill “his people” (meaning whites). He loved Trump’s talk about the menacing Jew Soros. He loved his talk in defense of the Nazis at Charlottesville. The only reason he disliked Trump was because he is not (yet) willing to kill in order to back up his talk. Bowers is simply the Cult of Trump in more concentrated form. It is a lie to say he is somehow a Leftist anti-semite.

As to the other lie–that chatter about Israel or being related to Ivanka somehow absolves Trump and the Cult of antisemitism, give me a break. Matt Lieb talks about the shell game being played by the Cult:

And finally, the claim that Trump cannot give oxygen to anti-semitism since his daughter is a Jewish convert trades on the demonstrably false belief that people are not complex.

H.P. Lovecraft was a massive anti-semite and racist. Just to give you a taste:

His letters overflow with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories of an underground Jewry pitting the economic, social, and literary worlds of New York City against “the Aryan race.” He warned of “the Jew [who] must be muzzled” because “[he] insidiously degrades [and] Orientalizes [the] robust Aryan civilization.” His sympathies with rising fascism were equally transparent. “[Hitler’s] vision . . . is romantic and immature,” he stated after Hitler became chancellor of Germany. “I know he’s a clown but god I like the boy!”

Lovecraft married a Jewish woman.  He described her as “well assimilated”.  He did not change his views on Jews.  He just made an exception for her.  In the words of Hermann Goering, the anti-semite who want to make a special exception says, “I decide who is a Jew.”

Likewise, Gregory Bush, who exercised his sacred second amendment rights multiple times into the bodies of a black man and woman after failing to shoot up a black church in Kentucky was married (till they divorced) to a black woman.

Trump’s history is full of obviously anti-semitic commentary and behavior.  That he remarks on his envy for Jewish financial acumen is not disproof, but an obvious evidence of his prejudices about Jews.  And none of it has given him the slightest pause in playing on ancient tropes popular with anti-semites.

Christians have a solemn obligation to defend Jews from harm and not to feed the rising tide of racism and anti-semitism the Cult of Trump is pumping into the bloodstream of our culture.
