We talked Spiderman (both Into the Spiderverse and Far from Home) and Avengers: Endgame, as well as discussing his thoughts on secular apocalypses. We also spent some time on the storied career of Franco Zeffirelli and the fascinating paradoxes of a man who was a great artist, a deeply committed and believing Catholic, a political conservative, and an open life-long homosexual (he preferred that descriptor over “gay”). Steve was his typical thoughtful and insightful self.
