…it is important to grasp that the Christians in the MAGA Cult do not see this

The Government Accountability Office said the Trump administration broke the law when it withheld US security aid to Ukraine last year that had been appropriated by Congress, a decision that’s at the heart of the House’s impeachment case against President Donald Trump.

The GAO, a nonpartisan congressional watchdog, said in a decision issued Thursday that the White House budget office violated the Impoundment Control Act, a 1974 law that limits the White House from withholding funds that Congress has appropriated.

The Office of Management and Budget told the GAO it “withheld the funds to ensure that they were not spent ‘in a manner that could conflict with the President’s foreign policy,'” said Thomas Armstrong, the GAO’s general counsel. But the GAO rejected that argument.

“Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law,” the GAO wrote. “OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act. The withholding was not a programmatic delay. Therefore, we conclude that OMB violated the ICA.”

or anything else Trump has done, from defrauding charities to scam universities to the obviously impeachable offenses which brought about this trial, as sin or crime. In the land of white conservative MAGA Christians who take Amway and multi-level marketing and pyramid scams as “business” Trump is seen as the Wise Serpent and Innocent Dove whose “smarts” have been blessed by God.

They don’t want to convict this guy. They aren’t filled with revulsion for this criminal.

They are filled with admiration. They want to be this guy.

And their theology is so distorted that they see this as perfectly biblical.  Trump is Jacob outwitting his enemies with lies and cunning. He is the Cult’s definition of a Blessed One–because he gets away with it and that proves God is on his side. He is an adorable rogue and diamond in the rough on his rocky road to redemption (just like themselves). And he is defeating the brown, gay, babykilling, poor, liberal enemies of the Chosen People, the Royal Nation, the people set apart for God’s glory: white conservative MAGA Christians (that is, themselves). God smiles on his antics and so-called “sins” (sins according to the liberal babykillers who can be dismissed as the DEMON RAT emissaries sent by Satan to deceive, if it were possible, the very Elect.) God overlooks these cuddly and adorable peccadillos (after all, who among us is without sin?) and indulges him because the ends–the glory and power of white MAGA conservative Christians–justifies the means.

In short, the hope is that someday in the great bye and bye every member of the Body of Trump will share in the money, prostitutes, power, and immunity from consequences of the Head.

What matters far more to them than abortion is power and spite against those they hate. That’s why they are silent about the fact that Trump raised Planned Parenthood funding by 8% last year and has refunded it for $550 million this year. None of that matters most. What matter to them is that when Trump skates, it will “make the snowflakes cry”. Spite, not some interest in “justice for the unborn” is what really revs their engines.

Not that all prolife people are like this. There are people with an actual consistent ethic of life who want human life to be respected from conception to natural death. I’m one of them and there are few people who hate me more than MAGA “prolife” Catholics. Rebecca Bratten Weiss is another and she was fired from MAGA hatchery Franciscan University of Steubenville and has been consistently lied about by “prolife” Pravda for MAGA Catholics at Liesite News and other propaganda organs.
