So a little initiative by women on Facebook took off like wildfire the other day. It simply consisted of women who have been sexually harrassed or assaulted writing “Me too” on their walls. The simple point was to try to get it through thick male skulls that This Is a Thing and not a rarity. The astonishing thing for this Thick Headed Male was just how many women answered the call. The immensity of the #metoo movement takes my breath away and breaks my heart. I just didn’t know. I’m sorry.
Relatedly, some of the Me Too women added Colorful Commentary on the difficulties of being taken seriously on this point:
As this was all happening there was, elsewhere on Facebook, Severe Moral Dudgeon being directed at the gross and awful Harvey Weinstein. But when somebody dared to point out that the people outraged at Weinstein thought Trump was the Savior of American Christendom, they were promptly rebuked for their mean assaults on America’s Favorite Baby Christian. His confession of sexual assault was nothing of the sort, we were assured. He only said what he *could* have done, not what he did. No comparison! So mean! So uncharitable! O the humanity!
Yeah.
Trump: I did try and fuck her, she was married.”
Unknown: “That’s huge news there.”
Trump: “No, no, Nancy. No this was [inaudible] and I moved on her very heavily in fact I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture. I moved on her like a bitch. I couldn’t get there and she was married.
***
Trump: “Yeah that’s her with the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful… I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.”
Bush: “Whatever you want.”
Trump: “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
“And when you’re a star they let you do it.” This is not a confession of what he could do. This is a confession of what he has done.
And lo! There are at least sixteen women who have come forward to confirm what Trump has confessed. So Trump confesses being a sex predator and sixteen of his victims confirm that he preyed on them. A real He Said/She Said situation. One of them has even subpoenaed the Trump Campaign for documents on other allegations against the Weinstein-in-Chief.

These are merely the women with the guts to come forward against the most powerful sex predator on planet Earth.
Will all the Good Conservative Christian Trump defenders who are orgasmic with joy (and filled with Grave Moral Dudgeon) about Weinstein suddenly be very upset that the Nuts and Sluts are attacking the Baby Christian President who merely engaged in Locker Room Talk a decade ago and is perfectly innocent? Or will they at long last do the right thing and face the fact that they have declared a vile sex predator as God’s Anointed, repent, and obey God in condemning this putrid sin?
Alas, I am not holding my breath. When you are a far greater Catholic than the pope, it is mighty hard to admit that you are wrong.
Meanwhile, back to the central point of the “Me too” movement: Beyond the defense of the Most Powerful Sex Predator on Earth there is the passive culture of defense of all the shockingly numerous other sexual assailants out there (shocking to me, not to women, who have had to put up with this crap). Here’s one way to start rethinking things so that, perhaps, they don’t have to put up with this crap anymore:
It’s not much, women, but for what it’s worth: I believe you. More than that, I believe it’s up to men to stop it, not up to women to make it not happen to them.
