A Nation Dithers

Having thrown the bums out in a fit of righteous rage and voted in our Democrat saviors in 2008, an electorate that is slowly realizing neither party has much in the way of ideas is now getting ready to righteously throw out the Democrat boobs they voted in and replace them with Republican boobs.

Of course, we still haven’t gotten round to figuring out that a democracy pretty much gets the government is deserves. The troubles with our country are still widely believed to be Their Fault, not my fault. Talk of sin is “guilt manipulation”. We prefer to be a nation that feels good about ourselves, not feel bad, learn from it, and deal with reality.

Until we finally figure that out, we can expect a bumper crop of ninnies in DC, all bent on spending our money on the Great Society at home (that’s the Democrats’ dream) or abroad (the Republican project). They will continue to succeed in lying to us because we are lying to ourselves and they just tell us what we want to hear.
