A reader writes:

I ran into a friend at the store today, and he needs prayers. His name is Tony. He told me that his wife, who has MS, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and another of his close relatives is also very ill. Tony only has a part-time job at the moment, just 20 hours a week as a waiter, but with the support that his sick family members need, he really does not have the time to look for more work, and of course finances are tight. I would appreciate it if you mentioned his needs to your readers.

Thank you

Father, hear our prayer for healing and provision for this family through Christ our Lord! Give them good, skilled, and compassionate caregivers and friends who can support them. Mary, St. Joseph and St. Luke, pray for them.

If you could all say a prayer for me I’d really appreciate it. I woke up this morning with an excruciating pain in my right side. I was able to drive to Morton Hospital while perspiring profusely, grinding my teeth, and repeatedly whispering “Help me, Jesus.” Thankfully, the pain suddenly became less intense the moment I walked into the emergency room. Anyway, after a urine sample, blood sample, and x- ray, I was told that I had a kidney stone. I was told to go home, drink lots of water, and flush out the little bugger. They gave me a strainer to catch it in. It’s already out, apparently. They said to look for a tiny white speck about the size of a pencil point, which is what I found. Hopefully it’s not just a piece of a bigger stone.
Anyway, please pray that there’s nothing left for me to pass, and if there is, that it will be as painless as possible. Thanks!

Father, thank you that the stone passed and we ask that there would be no others. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for my reader. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I asked for your prayers some time ago regarding my vocation. I’ve interviewed with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, and it turns out I don’t have a vocation there. Kind of lost about what to do now, so I’d appreciate some prayers for guidance.

Also, one of my co-workers is in dire straits. She’s a single mom with a toddler, and another baby on the way. She barely scraping by, so could you please pray that she finds a better paying job?

Father, grant my reader guidance and help his friend find a better paying job through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary, St. Joseph and St. Jean Vianney, pray for them.

Another reader writes:

Is it wrong for my daughter to marry a young man she is not in love with? I always hear about his frailties and things that annoy her about him…never a nice word is said….but she desperately wants a child and that’s why she is marrying him….I was hoping she would wait upon the Lord for her real soul mate to enter her life….This man is just a good friend…Please pray the Lord would intervene or let it happen if it is his will… thank you very much

Father, hear our prayer that your perfect will be done in this relationship and that a marriage in love, not in need, will be made or that they will not marry. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them.

Just saw from Francis Beckwith’s Facebook that Alvin Plantinga underwent triple bypass surgery today, so prayers are being requested.

Also, my uncle’s dad could use prayers for the repose of his soul, a swift passage through purgatory, and the healing of his wife.

Father, hear our prayer for Alvin’s complete healing and for the repose of my reader’s uncle’s dad and for the healing of his wife. Mother Mary, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
