Prayer Request

About six weeks ago, my wife and I adopted our second child, from China. While our first child was a healthy infant girl, our new son is four years old with a congenital heart defect. On Monday, he is having open heart surgery to repair the defect. In addition to the normal concerns to be expected with this type of procedure, we also have to deal with the fact that he is old enough to be aware of what’s going on, but the language barrier prevents us from clearly explaining things to him.

Please pray that he (and us!) makes it through Monday and the next several weeks of recovery more-or-less intact. 🙂

Father, grant healing to this boy, skill to his caregivers and grace and strength to all who love him through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for him! Sacred Heart of Jesus we commend him to your care!
