Prayer Request

A reader writes:

Our son, a practicing Catholic, has been fighting heroin addiction (Yes, it can happen to anyone.).  With three clean months behind him, he is feeling the oppression of the Evil One.  He very much wants to be prayed over by a priest and as I write, we await hearing back from a priest he very much trusts.  Please pray for his continued recovery and release from any influence from the Evil One.

Father, hear our prayer that the bondage of addiction be broken, that he seize the grace to get clean, and that he find joy in your freedom to the glory of your Name.  Grant him healing in body, soul and spirit.  Help him get in touch with his priest, and give grace, wisdom, and compassion to his caregivers and grace, peace and strength to all who love him.  Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for all concerned.  St. Michael, defend him in battle and rebuke Satan in the name and power of Jesus Christ and silence him from tempting this young man.  Give this young man the strength and will to resis temptation and choose life in Christ instead.  We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
