After all, what could be scary about making your Science Czar a guy who recommended a regime of forced abortion and sterilization? Certainly somebody who was willing to do that in order to head off the fantasy of the Great Overpopulation Famine of the 80s would never use his power to implement hysteria-driven pre-emptive measure to Stop Climate Change or anything.
