Hi Mark! I’m a long time fan of your blog, and felt compelled to forward this article to you in the hopes that it entertains you as much as it entertained me. Can’t you just feel the love towards the man who dares to disagree with the Global Warming “consensus”?
It would be funny, if the writer had been a bit less forceful in portraying John Coleman (Weather Channel founder) as senile old man.
What always strikes me about discussions of global warming climate change, like discussions of the Darwin Mythos, is how devotees deploy the language of religion to talk about science. Nobody asks if you “believe in” gravity or water boiling at 212 degree F, or the speed of light being 186,000 MPS. But when it comes to disputed scientific claims about the mysteries of human origins or our relationship to a vast and complex ecosystem, something in the soul of most human beings awakens (namely, the sense of the sublime) and we start reflexively using religious language. “Do you believe in evolution? Do you believe in climate change?” We also, by the way, start reflexively looking for true believers and heretics who are not of the Pure Faith.
I find that fascinating.
