…is referring you to Sean Dailey’s and Dale Ahlquist’s festive takeapart of AN Wilson. It’s a measure of how stoopid I was yesterday that I managed to miss Wilson’s idiotic claim that Chesterton’s best writing was behind him by the time he became a Catholic (The Everlasting Man, The Well and the Shallows, St. Francis of Asissi, The Dumb Ox, the Autobiography, The Return of Don Quixote, The Secret of Father Brown, The Poet and the Lunatics, The Resurrection of Rome, Four Faultless Felons, Chaucer–all crap!) and, especially, the bizarre and baseless assertion that GKC was gay.
(Have you ever noticed that the people who scream most loudly about “homophobia” tend to be the same people who use the charge of “hidden homosexuality” as an *accusation*?)
Anyway, I took my brain fart blog down on Wilson’s review. Mea culpa.
