Sociopath Soils the Sacrifices of Millions with His Tiny, Damp Hands

When a man who who lost his son in the defense of your freedom asks what you have sacrificed during the years you took five deferments, engaged in serial fornication and dodged STDs as your “personal Vietnam“, a normal personality takes his lumps and maintains a decorous silence. At most, a normal person thanks the grieving father for his service and, if he is a canny politician, he then changes the subject to the fact that his opponent voted for the war his son died it.

But Trump is not a normal personality. He is a thin-skinned narcissist bully of breathtaking cruelty and vindictiveness. And so he has doubled and tripled down, first suggesting that the grieving mother of this hero was not allowed to speak because she is a Muslim and then adding that the father was only angry because he supports terrorism. At this point, he departed from all normal standards of common human decency.

But yesterday, he quadrupled down, and in a way that really does suggest such severe sociopathy that the GOP must seriously consider withdrawing all formal support and denouncing him.

Here’s what happened: a vet gave him his Purple Heart. Any human being with a shred of decency–let alone this vile politician in his current predicament–would say, “I cannot accept this. You earned it. I did not serve. I have no right to it. God bless you for your service.”

What did Trump say? “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart,” Trump continued. “This was much easier.”

It was a disgusting thing to do. The crowning disgusting thing of a year of disgusting things. And the really amazing part is that Trump really seems to believe that taking this in his unworthy hands somehow confers on him absolution for his appalling cruelty to every Gold Star family in the US and the blessing a grateful nation confers on its vets.

This man is seriously damaged and depraved.
