The Irish Church is reeling from (and the secular UK media is absolutely gleeful about) a report on abuses committed in various institutions during the 20th Century. Amy Welborn has the story and will, undoubtedly, be giving this the sort of top notch coverage she normally gives suuch stories. What can you say? St. Peter tells us that judgement begins with the Church and Jesus warns that every branch that does not bear fruit is broken off and cast into... Read more

I hope this is a temporary hiatus and that we will see him again one of these days. And I look forward to meeting the man in person when I go out to VA/DC/MD next month. I want to shake his hand. Thanks,... Read more

on the situational Ultramontanism of Morning’s Minion (seen here attempting to press gang me into line behind Benedict XVI as an Obama supporter). Strangely, as Zippy has noted, MM has much more muted responses to the abortion supporters in his own comboxes who claim that subsidiarity somehow justifies the pro-choice position. Read more

Those who will not... Read more

A reader writes: You. Must. Approve! The House and Senate [of New Hampshire] have approved allowing gay couples to marry. But Gov. John Lynch, a three-term Democrat, said last week he would sign a same-sex marriage bill only if it provides “the strongest and clearest protections for religious institutions and associations, and for the individuals working with such institutions.” Lynch said any such measure needs to “make clear that [clergy and other religious officials] cannot be forced to act in... Read more

Why, by inviting Planned Parenthood to campus and having a “thoughtful conversation” about “reproductive justice” that *only* allows pro-aborts on the panel, of course! If you are an SU alum, are you giving them any money? If so, why? Not one damn dime to these people. They should be closed, padlocked, and fumigated. Read more
