Two Papal Encyclicals Issued Today

On this day two papal encyclicals were issued. In 1898, Pope Leo XIII issued Caritatis Studium, which dealt with the Church in Scotland. In 1968, Pope Paul VI issued Humanae Vitae, which dealt with the issue of birth control.
