Next time you are hurt by someone’s unkind words, next time you feel judged, next time you see someone elses’ sin — instead of trying to put up a wall, instead of pointing your finger, instead of laughing (it off maybe?), instead of getting ruffled or offended or discouraged, try to think of a way you can bless that person.
Maybe it’s an immodestly dressed woman, maybe it is a homosexual, maybe it is the homeless guy screaming obscenities at you and your kids at the park, maybe it is a harried mom who can’t get her kids to behave at the grocery store — remember that you are a Christian. We worship the God who created love. The same God who sent His beloved Son to serve and save the worst of the worst (that’s us, you know). If we are going to call ourselves Christians, we need to start acting more like Christ.
Seek to love. Seek to serve. Seek to speak the truth with every ounce of your soul. Spoken truth isn’t nearly as effective as living truth.
