A Home for Christ in the Silence

A Home for Christ in the Silence August 18, 2017

The silence centers my innermost being on making a home in my heart for the presence of God. It is in the stillness I find I am alive with the awareness of the self-sacrificing love that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have for me. Silence is the sacred space where the Holy Spirit joins our heart in communion with the resurrected Christ and living God.

Christ lingers in the silence of our heart and encourages us with an invitation to fellowship with Him no longer distracted by the various thoughts and voices in our heads. He patiently waits for us to become silent to listen and contemplate an inaudible word spoken to us by the Spirit. As the Heavenly Father spoke to the Son of Man when the Holy Spirit descended upon Him, He speaks to our spirit that we are also His beloved daughters and sons and He is well pleased with us too.

Let your mind and heart become silent and listen for the word of God to spring alive and bring hope to your soul.

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17 NIV
