I have been a little guilty of thinking about the “what if’s”… August 12, 2009

I’m so glad I found your blog through the MMB listings. What an awesome service you are providing. I think your advice was spot on and I wish the original poster every success in implementing it.

I think I’ll go back and read some of your previous questions. I like the way you ‘think’!

I have been a little guilty of thinking about the ‘what ifs’ sometimes even though I’m largely satisfied with my relationship. It probably IS just a midlife crisis thing as you point out.

I recently read an article that was so incredible in this regard that you might enjoy- the MMB gals linked to it and it’s called “Those Aren’t Fighting Words, Dear”. Did you read it? Awesome!

Thanks for your many compliments. Glad you’re enjoying the site. Thanks for the referral to the article you mention. I thought it was excellent and has many good strategies for dealing with such a difficult situation. It’s amazing the power we can have when we focus on self and when we keep our cool.

As far as the “what ifs,” join the club. It’s almost impossible to not go through those in our minds at times. The best way to counter these is to consider that even if we had taken the other road to the “what if” we are thinking about, we would more than likely be sitting around thinking about the “what if” road we are currently on. I think I just confused myself and probably all of you, but hopefully you get my gist.
