Would you put erotic dancers and strippers in the pornography category? I would, but my spouse argued that it is just printed materials and videos. This seems absurd to me- I think seeing something live instead of on a video is the same thing or worse!


Yes I would.

There are dancers/dances/costumes that we may find inappropriate but I would not deem pornography (i.e. professional cheerleading teams such as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Las Vegas showgirls, etc.). But if you go to a strip club where the women (or men) are taking off their clothes, dancing in a provocative and sexual manner, providing sexual favors such as lap dances, and eliciting funds for this type of behavior, I would most definitely categorize this as part of the pornography industry. The main purpose of this type of business is to elicit sexual excitement. Pornography comes in all types of mediums – not just the printed form. I suspect your husband already knows this but may be trying to justify something on his end?
